I've realised little point worrying about it. People are doing it all over, any amount of advice is being ignored and you only end up highlighting Motorhomer idiots.

The Councils should be enforcing the rules, we can't, so Ive gave up trying. I just make them visible (the etiquette).

Jason, because it's a turning circle at the end of a road, used by a lot of locals and visiters, where people come to park for a while to look at the water, and diving clubs, kit up to go diving, and there is at lest 400 mtrs of roadside to park overlooking the sea, before you reach the turnabout, where normal people park Campers, although there are signs to say no parking, along the roadside, which I interpret to mean, not to park on the grass area behind the signs, in order not to destroy the grass.

Also they were parked in the middle giving themselves plenty of space behind and to the side but making it awkward for anyone else to use that space. As they had the awning deployed and table and chairs out they were in fact camping not parking.

ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC AND parking) REGULATIONS, 1997 says
A vehicle shall not be parked in a manner in which it will interfere with the normal flow of traffic or which obstructs or endangers other traffic

Those idiots could definitely be given a ticket based on the obstruction bit.

On the week running up to the NW200 I observed several motorhomes parked outside the Aires in Portrush while there were still spaces vacant within the Aires.
But then to park in the Aires you would have to pay.

Seen the same happen in Dungarvan last year.....one lad even told me I was "missing a trick"

And no doubt the very same ones would be the first to scream from the roof tops when they get caught

The tables are in the Hook Lighthouse visitor centre for the café and picnic, outside the wall is the road and ample parking if responsible.

This is the next place to see a barrier fitted, this is the result of no parking signs ( by order of the owner) along the grass edge, and a bake book report of the Garda moving motorhomes, so they are parking on the turnabout where there are no signs,
The Garda enforceing no parking on private property? Is that not a civil matter,?

Yes it is a civil matter.
No Trespassing signs would be more appropriate if it is private property because legislation empowers An Garda Síochána to direct trespassers to leave the land concerned and, if necessary, remove any object belonging to them from the occupied land. A person who is guilty of an offence is liable on summary conviction to a fine of up to €4,000 or a term of imprisonment, or both.
